CCF Runs for the Sun

On a summers evening on the 19th July, some of the CCF committee members took the brave challenge to run for the charity in the Chase the Sun 5K run at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park London. A fantastic effort with all completing the run was made by Areti Nicolaou, Joanna Petinou, Hannah Broady and Marina Shiamishis, who also persuaded her husband and children to join in the fun.
The CCF team joined over 500 runners, challenging themselves to raise much needed funds for the charity of their choice, setting their own personal goals, or just having some fun. Competitors were able to take in the Olympic Park, the famous Olympic Rings and the Velodrome on their run whilst having some fun and a few laughs on the way. It was certainly a day of camaraderie, although some of the CCF team were more competitive than others, with the fastest time in the group going to Nicolas Shiamishis at 00:26:16.
It was a great day with over £5000 raised to support our mission of protecting children from cyber bullies and investing in events and activities that allow them to step away from their screens and have some fun. Keep an eye out on our events page and see where you can find us next!
